MacOSX Installation

Note: the OpenVPN Community Edition client is not available for macOS X computers, you can use the Tunnelblick client instead

  1. Download configuration file "fdn-vpn-public.ovpn"
  2. Download FDN Public VPN certificate
  3. Download the Tunnelblick client DMG file.
  4. Open the file and double click the app icon to begin the installation.
  5. Give permissions to install on your Mac by entering your credentials when prompted.
  6. Click Close when you get the "installation was successful" message.
  7. Once the installation is complete, launch Tunnelblick. The Tunnelblick welcome page appears and asks if you have any configuration files. Click the "I have configuration file" button.
  8. Drag and drop fdn-vpn-public.ovpn file into the Configuration tab or click on Browse to navigate to the location on your computer.
  9. A pop-up window will appear asking if you want to install the setup for all users or just for you. Select the desired option.
  10. Give permissions to install on your Mac by entering your credentials when prompted.
  11. After that, select the configuration file and click Connect.

When connecting, you are asked for a login and password. You can complete with whatever you want, for instance Edward and Snowden.
